The land flowing with milk and honey was promised to Moses and to the people of Israel as early as in the third chapter of Exodus, where, for the first time, God calls the people of Israel “My People”. Speaking from the burning bush, the Lord said to Moses: “I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey” (Ex. 3:8).
The milk and honey are to be understood in the context of the good and large land mentioned in the same verse. The Land, that was laid to waste and ruin for two thousand years, flourished again within years of the return of the people of Israel to their land.
This year’s calendar presents only some of the many aspects of the good and large land, fruitful enough for its inhabitants as well as for exports. It presents but a glimpse of the overflow, the bounty and the beauty of Israel. The produce of the land is here for you to enjoy!
