Alexander, Solomon Michael - Michael Solomon Alexander, born in Schoenlanke in 1799. Served as rabbi in Norwich and Plymouth. When he began to be interested in Christianity he was suspended from his duties. His wife came to faith six months after he. Served as missionary in Danzig, London, and then as (Anglican) Bishop of Jerusalem until his untimely death in 1846.

Ben Isaac, Judah Jonah - Judah Jonah Ben Isaac, of Safed; born 1588, died 1668 Ben Oliel family - Ben Oliel, a well-known family in Oran, north Africa. Ben-Meir, Moshe Emanuel 1905-* - An Israeli believer from pre-state days and a pioneer of the believing church in Israel. Founded and edited the Hebrew journal "Tal" (dew), and led a congregation in Haifa. Bergheim. M. - Bergheim, M was sent to Jerusalem in 1837 to assist the Rev. Nicolayson in his work in Jerusalem. He was afterwards a banker and died in 1896 as churchwarden of Christ Church, Mount Zion.

Eppstein, John Moses - Born John MOses Levi in Prussia 1827. Adopted by his maternal grandfather in 1836 and moved to Jerusalem. Came to faith in Jerusalem in 1844 through the testimony of his cousin, believing Rabbi Lauria. Died in London, 1903.

Goldberg, John Benjamin - John Benjamin Goldberg, a rabbi in Jerusalem, came to faith in 1843. Served as missionary at Constantinople and Smyrna. Died in England.

Halbmillion, Jacob - Jacob Halbmillion, born in Jerusalem. Served in London and North Africa. Died in Morocco in 1888. Hershon, Isaac - Isaac Hershon, born in Galicia in 1818, educated in Talmud and Hebrew. Met Nicolayson in Jerusalem and became a believer there. Headed the model farm at Jaffa;and wrote books on the Talmud and the Bible. Died in London 1888.

Iliewitz, Alexander 1815-1895 - Alexander served as a medical missionary in Jerusalem from 1857 to 1893, in association with the London Society's work there. Irosolimitano, Dominico - Dominico Irosolimitano, born in Safed 1550; died in Rome 1620. A Rabbi and Physician.

Kofsman, Shlomo Zeev *-1976 - Shlomo and his wife Yvette immigrated to Israel from France in 1948. They settled in Jerusalem and co-founded the first indiginous Jewish Christian assembly to achieve official status as an "Ottoman Society" or, in modern terms, an 'amuta". Koloria, John - John B. Kaloria
A native of Jerusalem, heard the Gospel from the LJS missionaries. He studied at Basel, and was then sent out to Uruguay as pastor and teacher in a German Colony there. About 1887, he assisted Mr Eppstein in London, and then went to the US where he became engaged in Ministerial work, contributing valuable articles to the Jewish Missionary periodical at New York, “The People, the Land and the Book”

Landsman, Daniel 1836-1896 - Daniel Landsman, Jerusalem. First testified to his faith in Jerusalem, then became a missionary in Constantinople for 17 years before being called to New York. Died in NY, USA. Lauria, Elieser (Rabbi) - Elieser Lauria, Rabbi in Jerusalem. Came to faith in 1843, and served as missionary in Cairo together with his wife who also came to faith. Levison, Leon 1881-1936 - Leon Levison was born and raised in Safed, the son of a well respected Ashkenazi rabbi. While a youth managing his father's estate he read the prophets and concluded the Messiah must have come long ago. (more info in 1900 biographies) Levison, Nahum 1888-* - Born and raised in Safed, the son of a well respected Rabbi. Came to faith on reading the writings of Paul, inspired by his older brother Leon's confession of faith. The brothers were prominent among Hebrew Christians.

Oczeret, Leo - Leo Oczeret, born in Galicia, cmae to faith in Jerusalem and served in Safed. Died young, in hospital in Vienna. Ostrovsky, Isaac Samuel 1902-2001 - At age of 16 Solomon fled the pogroms in the Ukraine and made his way to Israel with a group of relatives. On his journey he met Leon Averbach, from whom he heard the Gospel, came to faith and arrived in Israel a year later.

Poljak, Abram - Born in the Ukraine in 1900, Abram Poljak was witness to a pogrom at the age of five. His parents fled to Germany. His experience left him viruntly anti-Christian. He became a believer in 1933 when in Gestapo detention, and immigrated to Israel in 1935. He established a Jewish Christian congregation in Jerusalem in 1945.

Rohold, Shabtai Benjamin 1876-1931 - One of Israel's first bona-fide sabra missionaries, Shabtai was born and raised in Jerusalem, the pampered youngest son of a revered rabbi, Naphtali, and grandson of Moshe Baruch. Shabtai was trained in the strictest adherence to rabbinical Judaism. Rosenthal, Simeon - Simeon and his family, Jerusalem, came to faith in 1839.

Schorr, Samuel 1859-1933 - Born to a Hebrew Christian family of the Anglican community in Jerusalem, but spent most of his adult life in England. A clergyman, missionary to the Jews and author. Out of love for the Holy Land he prepared and exhibited the Palestine Exhibitions for about 25 years. Schuffamer, Elisha - Rabbi Elisha Schuffamer, from Salonika, became a believer in Jerusalem in 1848; served the Lord in Jerusalem, and in the Bible depot in Cairo. Stern, Paul 1816-1873 - Hungarian national who arrived in the land of Israel in 1851 and was saved shortly after. He dedicated himself to preaching the Gospel among his countrymen and became well respected even by his enemies. Sternschuss, P. - Sternchuss opened a mission at Safed in 1843 where he held a daily service and tried to have intercourse with the religious Jews, but were boycotted by them.
In 1844 he accompanied Aaron Stern to Baghdad, from there to Mesopotamia, visiting Hillah and Ezekiel’s tomb twice; he also visited Persia.
